A Personal Word to Readers…and a Request

A warm new year’s greeting to you all as we embark on the long awaited fateful year of 2012!

With the new year we are also preparing to embark on a major new direction in our writing and publishing. Ebooks seem to be taking the world by storm. Whether this will ultimately mean the end of traditional bound “books” as some are predicting is certainly doubtful. But it is assuredly changing the landscape of book writing and publishing for authors!

I must admit that the motivation to write an “ebook” is less challenging than the thought of one day seeing one’s work in a bound book. But one must adapt to change or be left behind. I resisted computers for years, vowing that I would never give up writing by typewriter. Almost exactly now twenty years after I finally gave in and bought my first Mac Classic II computer, I have never regretted the change. (Though sometimes I do get angry at my computer when it doesn’t do what I want it to!)

Therefore, I would sincerely like to know how many of you who read my books and MacDonald’s are transitioning to reading by Kindle or Fire or some other ebook device. What are your thoughts about this change? Are you still buying books? Are you getting rid of your libraries in favor of storing all the books you own on Kindle? Do you enjoy the process of reading as much on a Kindle as cuddling up with a book? If some of my non-fiction writings that I am unable to find a publisher for were available on ebook, would they be of interest to you?

These are all questions that would help me assess what directions I need to go in my own writing future. I would greatly appreciate hearing your responses and reading your own observations about this change.

We are happy to hear from you either by snail mail, or email, or by using the Contact Us form of this website. We read all our mail with great interest however it happens to come.
